Wine Culture with Nicole is all about bringing together wine enthusiasts of all levels in beautiful spaces. Freelance sommelier Nicole Erica selects wines from boutique vineyards that focus on sustainable, biodynamic winemaking.  Her carefully curated events focus on food pairings, storytelling, and learning how to evaluate the sensory experience of these special wines.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland Nicole was extraordinarily close to her mother who taught her integrity, humility, and taste. Always focused on education, Nicole studied international business and design in Philadelphia. Upon returning to Baltimore, Nicole signed on with a new Northern Italian restaurant. Drawn by the 300 year old cathedral tiles and imported Italian marble, she was not to be intimidated by the list of 900 Italian wines - the largest on the east coast. 

With the opportunity to taste obscure varietals from a civilization that had been making wine for thousands of years, Nicole was transported back to her childhood and her mother’s collection of ethereal perfumes. Fascinated by the personal link between palate and memory, Nicole mastered the Italian landscape before shifting focus to the French winemaking tradition.

After 9 years of hard work and dedication, Nicole decided to go freelance in February 2019. Sharing her passion for education and wine, Nicole combines the structure of the “Court of Master Sommeliers” with a laid back atmosphere of inclusion.
